what is career compass?
The Garage Career Compass is a program for youth between the ages of 16 - 18. It combines a summer-long paid internship with a challenging life and leadership skills development curriculum. Youth are placed individually or in pair at Host Sites, where they participate in part-time, meaningful direct-service activities. Youth serve four days a week, Tuesday through Friday. Service hours range from 20-30 hours a week.
Although Career Compass is a short-term program, our goal is to equip youth with transferable life, work-readiness, and leadership skills, along with the knowledge to actively support their community.

Career Compass es un programa para jóvenes entre 16 y 18 años. Combina una pasantía pagada de verano con un plan de estudios desafiante para la vida y el desarrollo de habilidades de liderazgo. Los jóvenes son ubicados individualmente o en parejas en sitios, donde participan en actividades significativas de servicio directo a tiempo parcial. Los jóvenes participan cuatro días a la semana, de martes a viernes. El horario de trabajo puede ser entre 20-30 horas semanales.
