Chef Mayolo started working at The Garage in 2024 when he was hired as our summer program chef. As a lifelong cook who ran his own restaurant for 14 years and spent time working for Be Here Brewing in Avondale, he appreciated the flexibility, creative challenges, and peaceful atmosphere The Garage provided for him. Now he works as the Garage Chef year round!
Chef Mayolo loves witnessing the joy and gratitude of Garage students as they enjoy his food. He finds purpose in cooking for our teens and is passionate about sharing his love of food with them — preparing everything from steaks, pizza, and mac and cheese to traditional Mexican dishes like pozole, tacos, and enchiladas.
Best of all, Chef Mayolo is always more than happy to provide second helpings when students (and staff) ask!
